ASH WEDNESDAY

We keep on mentioning the word "ASH WEDNESDAY" but do you know what is the true essence of it? ASH WEDNESDAY marks the start of LENT.  It is the season of penance, reflection and fasting which prepares us for CHRIST'S RESURRECTION on Easter Sunday in which by doing so we could attain redemption. Ashes are a symbol of penance made sacramental by the blessing of the church and they help us develop a spirit of humility and sacrifice. Receiving ashes reminds us of "MAN IS DUST AND UNTO DUST YOU SHALL RETURN.
